The Body's Journey in Sobriety:
Addiction & Yoga Psychology

Picture
Join Sadie in this illuminating workshop that delves into the embodied nature of trauma and its relationship to addiction. This session is specifically designed for individuals on the sober path, including those who are sober curious, as well as yoga instructors seeking to deepen their understanding of the mind-body connection in recovery.

 In this workshop, participants will:
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of how trauma becomes embodied and manifests itself in both behavioral and physical expressions.
  • Drawing from both yoga philosophy and western psychology, Sadie will provide valuable insights into how the interruption of the natural human development process can lead to issues related to addiction.
Class will include:
Experiential exercises, group discussions, and reflective practices to increase your understanding of the mind-body connection and its relevance to the sober path. You'll gain insight into which energy centers may require your attention and practical tools, including breathwork, movement, mindfulness, and mantra, to reshape beliefs and foster inner peace and strength. A paper digital self-exploration booklet is included so you can continue to foster self-awareness and enrich your healing journey.

Note: This workshop is intended to provide information and tools for personal growth and understanding. It is not a substitute for professional therapy or addiction treatment. Participants are encouraged to seek personalized support from healthcare professionals or therapists as needed.

Three Yoga Alliance CE credits will be available to RYTs. This workshop is hybrid virtual/in person.
