Can I get an extension on my class pass or membership
In the event that you are going out of town for an extended period* , or if you have a medical issue*, I would recommend not cancelling the auto-renewal, but rather suspending/freezing the auto-pay membership for a specified length of time. If your “class pass” was purchased with a coupon or voucher (i.e., Groupon, ZenRez, Chinook Book), then no extensions can be made.
* Please notify DAYA prior to your absence, or in the event of an injury or illness please notify us as soon as possible, rather than weeks or months later.
Why do some of the available memberships include a donation
Some of our monthly membership options include donations, but not all. Those memberships that include tax-deductible donations within their prices (AGNI, and DAYA memberships) support the medical scholarships that we offer, and the outreach programs.
Can I use my monthly membership to pay for the Ayurvedic Restorative Yoga series?
The Ayurvedic Restorative Yoga series is completely set up for fundraising - all proceeds go to scholarships and outreach programs. with this in mind, it isn’t a class for unlimited memberships.
Additionally, there is a policy of no refunds for the Ayruvedic Restorative Yoga series, even if students need to miss a class. Sarahjoy volunteers to teach this series as a fundraiser for DAYA. To make it worth the time she puts into it, Sarahjoy only teaches the series if at least ten (10) people pre-pay and commit to coming. If someone who is registered doesn't use the session, the value of the class is still a donation to DAYA. In that sense, the class is a similar to a free gift that someone receives when they make a donation to public radio. If the person doesn't use their free gift, the donation to the radio station still stands.
When I donate money to DAYA, how is that donation utilized
Donations made to DAYA Foundation are what make our medical scholarship and outreach programs possible. Click here to read about our Medical Scholarships, and Outreach Programs.
I emailed/called the DAYA office with a question or concern, but haven’t heard back; why?
DAYA's staff are all part-time employees or volunteers, and our email and phone response timeliness is often dependent upon limited hours and availability. If your question in urgent, include the word “URGENT” within the email subject line. To better direct an email, you may choose from the email address list below, and include a capitalized keyword within your email subject line (for example, MEMBERSHIP, OUTREACH, FREEZE, PAYMENTS, PRIVATE LESSONS, RETREATS, TRAININGS, WORKSHOPS).
I am recovering from an illness, injury, or have some other medical condition, do you offer any classes that would be a better fit than the usual yoga classes
Yes, we have Adaptive Yoga classes three times a week. If you are attending only Adaptive Yoga classes, we offer 12-class and 6-class punchcards.* These adaptive punchcards have 6 and 4 month expiration dates, respectively, and are significantly discounted to be more attainable for those who frequent our Adaptive Yoga classes. No additional discounts can be applied to the sale.
*These Adaptive Yoga Punchcards are only applicable to the weekly Adaptive Yoga classes, and not to other weekly classes or special workshops and series.
I’m living with a disability, injury or illness, and/or have a fixed income. Do you have any pricing that would help with the cost of attending regular classes
Yes, we provide Medical Scholarships for students living on disability, facing the household budget challenges of medical conditions, or those living on a fixed income due to medical conditions.
Our Medical Scholarship program is funded by the generosity of our donors and supported by our community of yogis who choose to make DAYA their yoga home. Without the support of our community, we would not be able to offer medical scholarships.
If in need of a medical scholarship, please fill out anapplication. Once approved, the scholarship covers three months unlimited yoga for our weekly classes.
