AMRITA YOGA

Picture
Register here
amrita yoga, created by Sarahjoy Marsh, integrates vinyasa yoga with Ayurveda, neuroscience, yoga philosophy and psychology, pranayama, chanting, mindfulness, and dharma.

amrita yoga emphasizes the bio-mechanics of alignment, anatomy, kinesiology, and rehabilitative processes.

amrita yoga is taught in alignment with the rhythms of nature. Ayurveda teaches that our yoga practice should be in harmony with the changing of the seasons as well as the time of day (and your life cycle). To support these natural cycles, amrita yoga classes have different morning and evening rhythms (based on dinacharya) as well as seasonal focuses.
Mon, Tue & Thur | 7 - 8:15 am; Sun | 10 - 11:30 am

THE YOGA SUTRAS OF PATANJALI

Picture
Practice on Youtube
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali offer an amazing pathway to understanding the nature of our minds and what to do with the difficulties we face. An elegant text composed by Sri Patanjali, each sutra is precisely the words it needs to be.

However, it can be difficult to understand or relate to the sutras without a helpful commentary or a place of discussion.

These sessions will travel methodically through a few sutras at a time.  Understanding the sutras through their pairings will help to reveal the pathway being laid out before you.

Each session will include meditation, chanting, and discussion of the Yoga Sutras for contemporary life.

PRANAYAMA

Picture
Practice on Youtube
Pranayama is powerful medicine capable of shifting us from a state of distress or disregulation toward one of contentment and presence.

As quickly as the nervous system can be hijacked by stress or tension, pranayama helps us to regain our inner leadership with our nervous system.

Join us for this mid-day reset practice and learn how to choose and how to practice specific pranayamas. Each session will include meditation.

CHAIR YOGA

Picture
Practice on Youtube
Yoga is intended to be accessible to people of all ages and capacities. Chair yoga allows all students to adapt their practice to support their mobility, strength, proprioception, interoception, balance, and integration.

Chair yoga is not only for beginners. Students of all levels of yoga experience can benefit from these sessions. In addition, coming together as a community of practice that is inclusive of our various levels of ability, helps us to recognize our interconnectedness. You can anticipate that these sessions will be mindful, restorative, and balancing.
