This workshop will include an opening discussion about the role of Thanksgiving in our lives as well as a tender and important look at the history of the holiday, referred to as the Day Of Mourning among Native tribes. Christina White will co-facilitate this part of our time together. As we come into greater and greater awareness about the social injustices in our world, yoga asks us to look deeply and with honesty. We are encouraged to understand our role and our place in collaborative solutions including the practices of reparation, action and advocacy, and engaging in open dialogue to bring awareness to issues faced by BIPOC communities and perpetuated by dominant culture communities (even unknowingly).
The workshop will also include yoga asana and pranayama practices that support us to bring our physiological and somatic welfare into our understanding of what has happened, what is happening, and where we go from here.
We will also have a metta meditation practice and will close with a sharing circle.
Please note: This event is on Zoom. You will receive the zoom link with your donation receipt.
