Mindfulness-Based Emotional Balance Training for Educators
Mindfulness-Based Emotional Balance Training (MBEB) is a 9-week, wellness program designed specifically for educators. Developed by Margaret Cullen LMFT this 30-hour program has been the subject of more than 10 years of research supporting its effectiveness. MBEB provides participants with a flexible toolkit of strategies to support greater effectiveness and wellbeing in teaching and in life more generally. Each of the core areas covered in this course relates directly to stress management, self-care, and the ability to work effectively with challenging experience in ways that foster greater self-awareness, acceptance and resilience in-and-out of the classroom. MBEB provides a foundation and practice in each of the following key areas:
Concentration Attention and Mindfulness ~ Reducing Stress Reactivity Awareness and Understanding of Emotions ~ Increasing Resilience Empathy and Compassion for Self and Others ~ Fostering Acceptance & Connection
Class Format The MBEB course consists of nine weekly 2 hour sessions, and two, 6-hour retreat days. Each session includes experiential training in mindfulness skills, group discussion and inquiry, didactic learning and activities to support skills generalization in daily life. Workbook/text and guided MP3 recordings are provided to support building a strong foundation in practice between sessions.

Can I take this course for Credit? Yes! Participants can earn three graduate credit (3 credit hours) through Portland State University Graduate School of Education. Participants may qualify for continuing education credit or tuition reimbursement through their individual institutions. Talk with the Instructor for details.
