Join yoga therapist Maddie Adams in this 8 week series to learn yoga tools and techniques to support the health of your lower back. This course is based on practices used in two NIH studies on the benefits of yoga for low back pain, with more than 78% success in reducing or eliminating low back pain. Learn how to work effectively with the major muscles of the low back and hips while stabilizing the spine through the deep core to support optimal alignment and lasting health.
Week 1: Intro to Yoga for the Back and Breathing Basics
Week 2: Working w/ the Root: Transverse Abdominis and Pelvic Floor
Week 3: Strengthen the Inner-Line pt 1: Pelvic Floor and Adductors
Week 4: Strengthen the Inner-Line pt 2: Pelvic Floor, Adductors, and Multifidi
Week 5: Working the Superficial Back-Line: Lengthen the Hamstrings, Stabilize the Pelvis
Week 6: All about the Hips: Psoas and Piriformis.
Week 7: Releasing Chronic Tightness: Quadratus Lumborum
Week 8: Putting it All Together: Creating a Home Practice
