Foundations in Mindfulness is a 14-Hour introduction to mindfulness and its effectiveness in reducing the negative impacts of stress. Participants learn practical methods that have been shown to increase resilience and enhance well-being, in a supportive environment that includes time for questions and discussion.
Class Format: This course meets for four, 2 ½ hour sessions and one, half- day retreat (4 hours). Each session includes experiential training in mindfulness, information on stress management and resilience, with group discussion and activities to support bringing mindfulness into daily life. The half-day retreat provides an opportunity to experience a more sustained period of guided practice followed by inquiry and discussion.
*This course covers the core mindfulness components of MBEB and can be offered as a stand-alone introduction to mindfulness or in series with the Heart of Resilience course (below), which covers the Science of Emotion, Forgiveness and Compassion components of the MBEB training.
