Join us in support of the rebuilding of the Breitenbush Sanctuary and the Eric Ellis Meditation Memorial.
Sunday, August 17th, 6 - 8 pm PST
This gathering is limited to 30 guests. We're gathering together to celebrate community, enjoy the fresh flavors of summer's harvest (prepared by Sarahjoy and friends), and to lend support to the fundraising efforts for the new Sanctuary and Eric Ellis Meditation Memorial.
As of July 15th, we have raised $570K of our projected $680K budget for the project.
Guests will be treated to a memorable summer evening in the beautiful backyard garden of Elizabeth Leach and Bert Berney. Our evening menu includes:
Mint Lassis followed by dinner featuring Pacific NW Salmon from a native fisherman, locally grown garden delights, and a summer tart with fresh berries and cream.
Improvisational Sound Healing with the music of the mystical hand pan drum and the Celtic harp (performed by Asia Moore, daughter of Peter Moore).
Storytelling from Peter Moore on the history of the Breitenbush Land.
The riveting story of how 5 members of the Breitenbush Fire Department saved 73 of the buildings in the Lion's Head Wildfire of 2020, shared by with Neil Classen who drove through Estacada determined to get to the land to help save Breitenbush. You'll learn why they were using garden hoses to put out the fire, how they tolerated the blistering heat, strategized to keep the propane tank by the kitchen from exploding, and drew water up from the river to keep fighting off the fires.
Fundraising update and Giving Opportunity.
