PsyD, RYT 200
Andrea (Dre) invites people of all backgrounds, experience levels, bodies, and abilities to her classes. She aims to create a holistic, inclusive and safe space while practicing yoga in community. Dre interweaves movement, mantra, breath, philosophy, and meditation into each of her hatha yoga classes. She offers a sense of warmth and groundedness as students explore the embodiment of each pose, breath, and movement.
Two weeks after completing a post-doctorate fellowship in clinical psychology, Dre flew to India for a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training through Akhanda Yoga. She experienced transformation and healing through yoga and the guidance of her teacher, Yogrishi Vishvketu, founder of Akhanda Yoga. Inspired to explore the benefits of a yoga practice in the context of clinical psychology, she is pursuing 500-hour Yoga Therapy Training under the mentorship of Sarahjoy Marsh.
Dre offers yoga at a local psychotherapy clinic and is passionate about expanding the accessibility of yoga and embodiment practices in a variety of contexts. She believes there are many paths to healing and welcomes modalities that unify the mind, body, and spirit.
Put away the incense and forget the incantations they taught you. Ask no permission from the authorities. Close your eyes and follow your breath to the still place that leads to the invisible path that leads you home. ~ Saint Teresa of Avila
