Moving into Stillness: Mindfulness is at the heart of yoga, and moving mindfully promotes awareness that supports any meditation practice. Together the skills of awareness, attention and a non-judgmental stance enrich both meditation and yoga practice bringing more presence on-and-off the mat. This 90-minute gently-paced class brings core principles of mindfulness into focus through movement (asana), breath-work (pranayama) and meditation. Class Format: Each session begins with standing poses as a preparation for sitting meditation and ends with a restorative yoga practice to promote balance and relaxation. This class supports beginner to advanced level students in exploring the relationship between mindful movement and stillness practices to meet life’s challenges with more balance, ease and equanimity.
